linking to tastyspleen

I was wondering if it would be possible to link the acme ctf server to tastyspleen group of server.

You have an option called GOTO on tastyspleen that list all server connected to tastysleen,  then you type GOTO name of server and you go there.

So each time somone would type GOTO they would see players on Acmectf and might be tempted to join and learn ctf. It would allows us to reach a bigger audience.

I talked with quadz some years ago on this, but we didn't go through with it. There are advantages and disadvantages, which, at the time, didn't balance out in our view.

Not saying yes and not saying no.....maybe something we could talk about. Anyone else have an opinion?

If it meets 2 requirements:
1. It gets more people on the server(s).
2. The pros outweigh the cons.

I think it would be nice to have, but the problems i would see would be #1 it seems like it might be a lot of work for not a lot of gain. And #2 ppl are hardly EVER on any server other than the pub, so it almost seems like a waste of time. There are many servers that the tastyspleen network supports which do get used, dm, railz, ra2, and all the tourney servers, those ARE frequently used. as opposed to the acme railwarz server getting played once every 2 weeks or somethin. Just my 2 cents, trying to save some time for ya worm  ..of course im sure you already know that

I think it would really help to promote CTF if we were part of the Tastyspleen group of server.

At night when we play everyone who type GOTO would see that there is activity on the acme server and might be tempted to look at what is going on.

Plus the ability to send a message with INVITE  that reach all the connected servers is really useful to find player to get a game going.

I  don't know how much work is involved but if it doesn't require a big investment in time I would definitely tell your overpaid Elves working for you to start on the job.

The only Elves available to perform this work have left to join in #occupy movment...

I have to do everything around here....fn elves. 

Anyway....just like the rail maps, will discuss this with the board too.
