Hi folks, server death is upon us.  Any lasts requests before it's all over?

I personally will repeat again that map selection and spec timeout were huge contributors to the downfall of the server, but in the interest of positivity let's hear your thoughts as an epic era closes out.

Huge thanks to Worm, Yowza, Bones, and all the other admins for providing such an incredible environment for all these years - no other FPS will capture this.

Server traffic always varies in the spring.

And I will personally repeat again, redundant as that may be, that we have already addressed map selection and spec timeout.

No suggestions for maps was received...none...not a fn one....well, except for CaKe, who I agree with in heart but nobody else does.  And, as has been said before, we aren't mind readers.

Spec timeout? We addressed that and removing it caused more problems. If you are going to spec, then spec...don't go off to take a dump and not participate in a mapvote when one comes up. How hard is it to hit a key every 5 minutes to keep from being dropped?

Besides...the server's purpose is to cater to players - not to specs.

There are some maps on the pub that simply empty the server it could be addressed but once again like worm said we would need more input from the players.

Look at the map stats, the one that shows the most popular maps played. Pick from the top 10, leave the rest out of the map rotation, but leave them on the server so an admin can call vote, err sorry map change to one if need be.

The problem people still have no fucking clue what which maps are which, then they're doing shit like telling everyone "Vote q2ctf4!"  When they realize it's Outlands instead of Stronghold Opposition they all go idle so a mapvote can't even go through.  At this point there is a 1v1 going on for 20 minutes, NO ONE is going to play, and the server is dead again because everyone has disconnected.
