Sooo...... I made the plunge and got Win 7 Pro 64bit, installed and of course I got problems.

I've always used this mouse acceleration fix called CPL Mouse fix, it comes in a reg file. Worked for me in XP, Vista, but now it's not in Windows 7. Quake 2 in my mind is unplayable at its current state. The best way I can explain it is that the crosshair almost seems to glide around the screen instead of me aiming at something and it being there instantly where I point.

In the past when I've had the same problem it would always be after a clean install. To fix it I would install the reg file, turn off V-sync, and unclick "enhanced pointer precision" in the mouse settings. This time around none of that works. This is my first 64bit OS, is there some sort of differences in the registry between 32 and 64 that could make that mouse fix file I have not work?

Any help would be appreciated.  huh

The CPL mouse fix always worked for me in 64-bit XP (using it right now with no problems), so I don't think that's the issue. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with Win7 yet. undecided

Never used mouse acceleration so I dunno....but..you use R1Q2?

I don't know how these cvars default on Win7 so might check:

m_directinput [0/1]
Enable DirectInput mouse support which provides smoother, non-accelerated mouse input. Default 0. Set to 1 to enable "buffered" DirectInput, 2 to enable "immediate" DirectInput. Immediate takes a snapshot of the mouse state when Q2 asks for one as opposed to buffered which lets Q2 see every single mouse event.

m_fixaccel [0/1]
Attempt to disable mouse acceleration on Win2k/XP/2k3. Note that this won't remove acceleration completely, but lessen the effect of it (Windows limitation). DirectInput is recommended to remove it completely. Default depends on OS, 0 on Win9x, 1 on Win2k+. Ignored if using DirectInput.

Above is from R1CH's readme for R1Q2 on his support forum: http://www.r1ch.net/forum/index.php?topic=105.msg439#msg439
