a picture is worth a 1000 words.

alka claims the match was under protest before the game started.. like i said, protesting would have been saying something in the thread in the 6 days PRIOR that i posted about harvey subbing for riles. (on nov. 2nd...match took place on nov. 8th.)
Riles > harvey regardless of what any moron thinks. Even harvey knows AND agrees that riles is a little bit better than him, not to mention the fact of taking a sub whos not used to playing with my team, riles is, yet another downfall.
The fact that you are fucking whining about this cup is more than pathetic. When your team goes like 7-1, would be 9-1 if you played the final 2 matches, maybe you guys did but I dont remember, how can you even complain. Sorry that my ping was normal for one game when we play the best team in the league...

And to clear up for you morons who don't remember WHY kt subbed for my team....quick side note, who everyone seems to forget, legend SUBBED for yellowfires team, is he on the subs list? did people yell at him? wheres the big shit show about that?HuhHuhHuh?

Anyways, why riles did not play; the computer he plays on is NOT his. it is his brothers. We should have started on time, but because yellowfire was being dumb, as usual, we got delayed 30ish minutes or so. riles could have played, but because of the delay, his brother got off of work and needed to do some schoolwork or something on the computer before he went to bed (this is like 11pm est about now), and the computer not being riles', cant say no. So he gets off and we make a quick decision, which was ALLOWED BY THE OTHER TEAM, for kt. And yet we STILL ALMOST LOST, we went into an overtime, and won by 1 cap i think. Riles did show back up near the end of the game to see what was going on because his brother was done with the computer.
Say all you want, thats the truth and if you want to bend it to make yourself feel better, which im sure some of you will, then feel free. Whatever makes you sleep at night little boys.

demos don't lie. Ill be sleeping well tonight, how about you?  rolleyes

Let me remind you, h0ps'...this is NOT smack section so keep it civil.

Yes, there have been un-protested subs....you subbed in kt and YellowFire's team made the mistake of accepting it without protest. They should not have. You won and still no protest so if they didn't care, why should we?

You assumed you could sub Harvey...the rules made it clear you couldn't in the final.

Your calling people names in this is not acceptable. People have put in a lot of time and effort for the cup while you have only tried to manipulate it to your own benefit from the very start. It's the ACME Cup...not the h0ps` Cup.

Stop being a prima donna and get serious.

rofl, well if we stop the 12-year old games, "this games under protest", "ill read the forum but not say anything about it, then claim h0ps has 17 minutes to find a sub or he forfeits!"

"Yes, there have been un-protested subs....you subbed in kt and YellowFire's team made the mistake of accepting it without protest. They should not have. You won and still no protest so if they didn't care, why should we?"

laugh....they should not have.. why, they subbed legend for a player, and they wanted to play because they wanted to have fun, need to stop getting so uptight about this. The reason I care about no one else 'caring' as you mention above, is because everyone tries to use it as leverage against me. Oh well you subbed kt, ok well if that was the case why weren't we disqualified right then and there... and yellowfires team for using legend? Both teams should have been dq'd there..but since it was allowed, it made everyone think that if both teams agree on it, it would be okay. Like i said, i posted that on nov.2, 6 days before the actual match, alka not only reads the forums daily, if not every other day, he replied in that thread, meaning he HAD to of read it and chose NOT to respond. choosing to wait till the last 2 seconds, then claiming, "where's riles!?" come match time, is like i said, 12 years old.

Seems some have a problem with rules...

I will post times based solely on your availability. (Fill out as many sheets as you can!)

This was only shared with those involved with cup.
It seemed like an excellent way of organizing matches and it worked for all of those who decided to use it.
It helped to keep the time between matches as low as possible, not like the 19 days that passed before the final match was finally played botched.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AoxUc5f4ovW-dGJHSXZCTGctNFNUOEhicWVQUlpYM1E&hl=en

That rule meant nothing to h0ps.

If there is a chance you may need a sub(s), plan accordingly.
You must use a sub from the sub list. Not in sub list = not a sub.

[00:20] <h0ps`afk> well i might have to sub harvey if he can play for riles
[08:17] <alka> rules say "not on sub list = not a sub"

I had already given my answer to his request of an upgraded player in place of Riles.
The rules were made, they were posted, they were all but ignored.

Again, this rule meant nothing to h0ps'.

*Matches must be started within 15 minutes of scheduled start time.
There is no postponing or rescheduling in finals.
Failure to have your team present within 15 minutes of start time will result in a forfeit.

If Beserkers knew that Riles would not be available for the match then they should have planned accordingly.
I'm all for letting things slide and being very lenient with the rules that I put in place, but I am suppose to let the opposing team upgrade one of their players in the final match of the cup? I think not. It took 19 days to get this match scheduled, and in the end it couldn't even be played with full teams.

I let it be known before the "match" started that his team had 17 minutes to find a sub.
Instead of acknowledging my request, I was more or less ridiculed for trying to enforce a rule.

Yet again, another rule that meant nothing to h0ps'.
This one was costly.

Why go through the trouble of carefully designing the teams to be as even as possible when people think they can swap out any player they want to benefit their team?

What a disappointing end to an otherwise fun Cup.

I would rather lose 28-0 against a legitimate team than win due to forfeit.

 rolleyes

The spreadsheet worked when I could log in, after multiple times of it taking 20+ minutes for me to load, aka clicking the link, closing it, and re-clicking it, i got tired of wasting my fucking time on it. This rule meant a lot to me when it actually worked, when it stopped, i stopped caring, next topic.

So im still wondering how harvey is an upgraded player.. if someone will answer that question ill stfu. maybe this big size text will get my point across

i like this too
"I let it be known before the "match" started that his team had 17 minutes to find a sub.
Instead of acknowledging my request, I was more or less ridiculed for trying to enforce a rule."

you were ridiculed for picking and choosing WHEN to enforce your rule. Enforce it 100%, or shut the fuck up and not do it. YOU dont get to choose because your team is playing, oh we'll follow the rules 100% this time, because we're playing hops' team.

Overall I hardly blame alka for this. He set rules, then when he wasn't around, stuff happened.
I totally expected this shit to happen in the first kind of tournament we have ever tried to be semi-organized in this day and age. Let's stop crying about this stupid stuff, and move on. If we're going to have another cup, this is something we can learn from.

Please, make this the last post about the tournament and cup. It's over. Done for.

Lets start focusing on sign ups for the next cup, this time around we'll have an idea of who can actually participate and who will be on the subs list instead of in lineups due to horrible availability (not meaning its by any fault of a person, just they are busy, thats all)

I agree completely about the rules, using harvey at as a sub shouldn't have happened regardless of skill level.

On the other hand though, I think you shouldn't have started the match in the first place.  Starting the match knowing harvey was subbing, then losing, then saying oh wait thats a dq really sets off the wrong vibe.

The match getting played was irrelevant.

Even if Gladiators would have won it would have still been put in the books as a forfeit.

We could have postponed, again, and played when? December?

They had to sub, and they knew it, and they blew it.

My two cents

The subs is irrelevant, as it has been the entire tourney.  People have played as subs who weren't originally on the list (me) and people have been subbed onto teams who weren't on the subs list.  It's too bad it's enforced in the final match, AND the match is still played.

I still don't understand how the match being played, is irrelevant.  You come to the field, there's a member on the other team who isn't qualified to play or whatever....you don't play and then lose and say that you win because of the ineligible player.  The ref at least clearly says before you play, guess what you've already lost this is just for fun.  Maybe that happened I don't know, but it shouldn't have just been assumed because it was in the rules or this post would not even have started.  You can't expect everyone to have memorized the rule book, they need reminded prior to the game especially in "championship" game.

I think the tourney overall was a success, but the final was definitly not the highlight of it.  Just like the B.C.fuckingS.

bea..

I made each team have a captain.
The captain was responsible for quite a bit for their team.
The reason it was tolerated throughout the cup is both captains agreed on it.

Quite a few cases, when subs were used, were questionable and I spoke my opinion on it each and every time. But since both captains agreed on it, that tied my hands.

Before the "match" took place last night I spoke my opinion, as did my team. I did not agree to Harvey being a sub for Riles, and was very adamant about it.

What I did do is tell the opposing captain they had X amount of time to find a legal sub before the match started, AS PER THE RULES.

Before the match started I mentioned that we would be "playing under protest".

I dotted my i's and crossed my t's and gave the opposing team every opportunity to have a good game.

I followed the rules yet I am the one being interrogated by a fellow admin.

anything else?

You don't go ahead and play the game, you sit there and wait till they find a proper replacement. You basically said "its ok, but the match will be reviewed" As well, you could have posted in the thread where h0ps mentioned it before and you wouldn't even be in this position.

i thought 12 year olds were done, why are you still talking about it. How did we blow it.. Im fairly certain that the 'answer' to harvey being allowed for a sub was in a prior match, and you copy/pasted it from then. I dont recall asking you for THIS match if harvey could sub (in irc), let alone read that you said no.
its ok though, because i upgraded my team apparently.
all i have to say to degen is one word.. silkkitten.
ive tried to stop this thread countless times, people wont stfu, be a chap and LOCK this thread like what happened to the others...thanks

I mean seriously, if harvey was going to play and you didn't want him to play, why did you play the match? Fault goes to both team TBH. The game should be replayed and not end with this gay result. Fill out the damn avaibility sheet and go from there.
