EDIT: nxctf4b - Rampless
- Converted all ramps to stairs. Less sliding, grenades actually bounce down these.
- Moved platform which leads to the side room closer to the wall.
- Removed upper mid bridge (fast players can still hop across; makes it easier for players to grapple in from the lower mid area)
- Removed ceiling light closest to yellow armor to make grappling up easier.
- Removed the skipping stones and added something a little more solid in lower mid.
- Fixed mid water so players should be able to get out without having to grapple.
- Added bandolier in water

I made all these changes based upon feedback from players in game and just watching and playing this map. This "Spec B" might not be on the rotation immediately but hopefully can get it map voted for players to test it out. Still the possibility of a Quad in the middle to make gameplay even more furious!

Thinking about possibly adding a quad damage on the top of bridge if players think it's a good idea. It should play fine without one though, it's small should be good for some quick play! Smiley

Comments are welcome as always. Screenshots are of nxctf4, with ramps, and with gl_modulate 3 and fov 115.

basically, everything that cake just said.

still, i like the overall look and feel of it.  i vote for no quad though... i think it'll play about as fast as lush does - even though this is bigger, there's not as many things to get caught on and there's fewer direction changes to move through the map... adding quad to that would just be asking for trouble.

if you decide that you just MUST have quad, i think it should go where SSG is now.

Just tested it out...seems pretty decent...but like I thought, middle is sketchy and very potentially annoying with a bunch of players.  Will have to see how it goes on pub.

Yeah, something like that wouldnt be horrible
Make the hallways to the bases less narrow to avoid spam
Etc.
Remove quad or at least put it in a less gay place

Also, I'd like to add that my previous comments were based on actually loading up the map (localhost:27910, anyone?) and playing it.

It seems unnecessary to have four rocket launchers in the map, especially when the upper ones are so close together... not sure what I'd put in place of those two... maybe SSG, and then put a red armor where SSG is now?  Actually, no, that's too much armor... maybe a light armor?  I'm trying to think of something that doesn't throw off the balance or make people practically invincible.

Let's get this in rotation and test it out.

Q2ctf4a was popular version of Outlands for Railwarz back long time ago. Red base was my favorite then.  wink

For all-weapons tho, I agree. Need a new map similar but with shorter distance between bases and open blue up like red. Add railguns near each base and leave quad where it is...make you work for it.  cheesy

Both nxctf4 & nxctf4b are in rotation on pub...let's see which is most popular.
