I am soooo sick and tired of you little boy toys around here telling me I should get on vent to prove I'm not a man. wtf does it even matter to you what gender I am? I'll never meet you in real life: we couldn't even get the frigging LAN parties started. Well, guess what? I WENT on vent and didn't like it! So stfu!

You guys have finally made me feel like I can't even joke without one of you becoming offended and the piling on insults and crap.

I speced Paul and saw that he was lagging badly and said so. Then I joked that he should stop downloading goatsex pron and he went off on me. Newmouse piled on but I'd had it even before today. It's not just them, there are other immature asses that hassle me WAY more than paul and newmouse. This was just the last straw.

No one cares about personal feelings except the older ppl and some select others here and I appreciate that.

even though i may not agree on dirt with most thing's. i must say i agree with him on this. some people say respect is earned not given. i think that's ass backwards logic to be honest, although i follow the philosophy of give respect until that person's actions revoke that respect. and there are only VERY few players on this forum that are actually decent it seems imho. you can alreead ysee the difference o nthe traffic flow of playersbetween the match and public for an example.


(covering my own ass here) the people on the forum who i get into argument's deserve it. you can read any post i have in the past and it will show that it was warranted. either by people acting a fool on the server or the forum. one can ask why i'm even on the forum in the first place since i don't get along with anyone. i guess i like the drama like the next person but i don't slander people for the sake of misplacing anger and ego.

on the subject of marla resigning , well it must have been added up for long time.
for someone wanting to resign from a game they really enjoy it must be pretty bad. i think people will miss her cheesy one liners.  i never took offense to marla's jokes because i seen them for what they were.

Honestly, I haven't been playing on ACME as much lately either.  I played a few matches last night before we all moved to tastyspleen because the guys felt sorry for me (or so they said =P) because I was lagging like all hell.  My connection to the server has gone to shit lately and I don't remember the last time I was on the pub with anything more than 10% connection quality.  Combine that with all the bad attitudes and it's just not an enjoyable situation at all.

I admit that I've been part of the problem at times.  I do have anger management issues - hence the name - and for a long time I was using CTF as a means to let loose because I honestly have days where sometimes I want to go outside and murder some random motherf*cker just for being near me.  If Q2 didn't exist I'd probably have been in and out of jail/prison more times than you can count.

But using CTF to cope just doesn't work anymore.  I've made my share of enemies and been unnecessarily rude to people at times.  I think bad attitudes are contagious.  Someone says some shit to you and it rubs you the wrong way, and you chew out the next person who says something for no reason other than because you can.  I mean, it's not like they know who you are or can come to your house to start shit, so you act as badly as you want.

I've been playing RA2 more lately, because in my experience RA2 players aren't so intolerable.  I actually had a pretty good RA2'er giving me tips and stuff a couple days ago and I'd never even really seen the guy before then.  I don't think anyone that plays ACME would do that now (even though h0ps, riles, and greenz all did for me when I started playing here).

I started playing here randomly almost two years ago, and I kept coming back because I liked the community - most everyone was pretty cool - but now it's not like that anymore.  There's all sorts of cliques and shit and it's torn apart the feel that kept me coming back.  I idle on vent more these days than I used to just 'cause some of the negativity in there puts me in a bad mood.

Much as any of you, I've met some people I like and some that I don't.  h0ps has always been pretty chill to me and most of the time is quite respectful and classy when I talk to him.  I love Riles' sense of humour.  dirt, oh man... dirt... I just fuckin' love that guy.  There's so many more people I could name here but this post is already pretty long.  I don't regret being here but I do regret some of the things I've done while here.

Also, Marla, one thing in particular that I've wanted to say to you for a while - just never really was the right time - was that I'm sorry for teasing you about when Louisiana lost your student loan/grant paperwork stuff.  I can imagine that's a huge bitch, but I was in a sarcastic mood that day and said what I said.  That's just my sense of humour.  I did not in anyway intend to offend you and I'm sorry for that.  You've bothered me sometimes, but everyone's got their certain aspects to them that just don't translate well through pixels on a screen, here on the boards or in a game, and I imagine you'd probably be pretty chill to hang with in person.  Honestly, I believe that about 98% of people are good people, it's just the other 2% that fuck it up for everyone else.

Marla, I hope you find joy in your life, in whatever way you desire.  Take care of yourself.

 I've not been playing much here, But I will agree that the humors can get a little evil sometimes, And the language and venting on Ventrilo does sort of get me down.

 I admit, I originally popped by here as a way to play Q2 and I can usually hold my own and try to improve, But I agree with Angry that there doesn't seem to be much of the Q2 camaraderie the earlier days were known for. I tend to take most of it in Stride, But it does get to the point where I get all miffed (Not being much of an a55 myself, I find it distasteful to have to be one in turn..!) and not play. Then one day I try again and get discouraged again. But yet I stick around, Because of the few people I have gotten to known here, A lot of them have not only been helpful or entertaining in some way, But the jokes are all in good funny, When they don't get too far out of hand.

 I'm sorry to hear about Marla heading out, But I guess it'd be better for her sanity in the future. I'll miss the way she always seemed to have a way of putting the arguing in perspective, And the fact she didn't seem to actively hunt me in games, Choosing louder prey. XD

 Kudos to you and whatever you end up doing in the future! And to the rest of you too, For putting up with me as best you can. XD

I'd have to agree with what a lot of you are saying regarding Attitudes.  This is one of the main reasons I stopped playing Quake 2.  There are too many people who play quake2 who have an inflated ego.

I couldn't stand it anymore and I quit.  I'm not sure what it is about this game, but I have played many other games and have never experienced the types of attitudes that I do in Quake 2.  People seem to think they're some sort of GOD when it comes to Quake 2.  I won't name names but i think everyone knows who the culprits are, and it ends up ruining the game.

So, congratulations all you arrogant, egotistical morons.  It has taken 10+ years, but you've conquered Quake 2 finally, and your attitudes are driving others away from the game.  I'm surprised more people haven't quit yet.

The early days were easy for camaraderie. We had clans. That's the problem with a dieing game, there aren't enough people anymore. In the old days, you joined your clan and could shit talk everyone and your clan was always there to back you up and you had "friends". Now that we have few players, there are cliques. So, when one clique shit talks ONE person that person tends to just quit because they have no one else.

You guys need to learn who you can and can't shit talk. I don't know why you even feel the need to do it in the first place. The only people I will shit talk are the ones who always have to start it up with me (YF, freak, etc). Let people play the game, no one needs to know how great you are, just play and let them see for themselves.

There's nothing left to prove in this dieing game, we only play because we enjoy it or need a timer filler. Somehow this is like the 10th person to quit, and still you guys are driving people away. It's time to grow up and shut up. It's old and no one wants to hear it, except maybe yourself.

My temper got the best of me and I said some things in IRC that probably should have been toned down a little but...I do not take kindly to being backstabbed after all the work put into the servers, forum, IRC channel and Ventrilo server which we provide. That post has been edited and not by me, I left it untouched for anyone to read the idiocy. That poster requested his account be deleted and the request has been granted so now to move on to more constructive matters.

Marla, I am not deleting your account. You seem to forget that we need players like you; ones that enjoy the game for the fun of it, that have a good sense of balance and humour in game. How is it excessive to flip people off, grab my nuts/ass everytime I fire, move sideways, forward or back? 

But being serious now:

1. Euros are annoying and only a few of them dont just come to trashtalk.
2. My connection is awful.  I have more packetloss than 95% of the server, including most if not all of the Euros and my connection quality is rarely higher than 0%.  Big reason I don't play anymore.  Getting shot while frozen/not having my gun fire because I clicked the trigger while it was frozen so it didnt register that I did...etc.   So if it slowed anyone down more itd be me.  And I never noticed a difference when I had those on.  Then again, kind of hard to notice a difference when you are teleporting back and forth across the map anyways, I guess.
