When did the whois command stop working?  I don't recall having issues with it years ago.....

There are many security vulnerabilities in older versions of A2Admins. One problem was the use of whois command to crash servers. The older regulars here can attest to that.

We disabled the use of whois command as soon as we discovered that exploit and R1CH patched Q2Admin to fix many security issues.

Whois is not failsafe, it can, and has on many occasion, given erroneous information. I feel that giving no info is better than giving wrong info.

The only usable part of Q2Admin for our servers is the name protection and some logging features, otherwise I would not run it at all.
