What can you say about a team that goes 16-0 in the NFL, I know, WOW! I don't wanna see any cameragate crap either because  it was nullified by 6 coaches saying that there is no way to get that information out that quickly during a game. Was it against the rules yes and they were fined harshly. As for the greatest team in NFL history good luck!

Gotta give a big congrats to the Patriots getting 16-0! Manning lost it for the Giants... horrible time management in the last 2 minutes. It's like they just gave up.

P.S.: Gumble needs to seriously quit television. Couldn't stand him last night.

How awesome would it be to go 16-0 in the regular season and not make it to the super bowl!??!?!

I am sorry for all the Pats fans, I was one of them until I learned the magnitude of their cheating.  As any "cheater" would say, once you learn from the cheats, you will always know more than the other people.  The Knowledge the Pats acquired by cheating is what got them this far in my opinion.  Let's see how much further it will take them.

As so many reports have said, the type of cheating Bill Bellicheck was found guilty of was a bannable offense, puzzles me why he was allowed to remain when other coaches would have gotten the boot!?  But, I guess the NFL is much like our own judicial system.  Find a loop hole and exploit the hell out of it, for right or wrong doesn't matter.

I find myself wondering, how good would the Pats have been if they didn't cheat to begin with?  Did their 3 Super Bowl wins come from cheating?  Or, were they honest seasons?  Their cheating raises a lot of questions which the NFL seems happy to brush under the table and ignore.  Sad, very sad.

Like I said to begin with, I am not trying to start trouble with this thread, but, look around the net yourselves, find your own information about the cheating, find your own conclusions.

And I agree, Gumble needs to retire, like Madden!  I can't stand to listen to either of them.

Dirt, the jet's did it as well. But no one ever brings that up. So many teams in the NFL do it. It's just the patriots got caught. Their 1st Super Bowl, that year they didn't play the Rams during the regular season. So there goes that theory. Their 2nd Super bowl which was the Carolina Panthers they didn't play them in the regular season. Their 3rd they played against Philly, here I think they played them during the regular season but i am not positive. Every football person doesn't think what happened tarnished what they have done. Yes cheating is wrong and they payed a big penalty. The critics that said it's a banable offense we reports from other cities that just don't like Bill Bellicheck because he doesn't give them much during interviews. I can see maybe during game one of the season where this whole cheating thing happened, but from there on out there has been a microscope on the patriots side lines for the entire season. They are on the level.

Also how about the Carolina Panthers, when 4 offensive linemen and 6 defensive people were tested positive for steroids before the game against the patriots during that super bowl year? Is that cheating, yeah I think so. Was much made of it....nope. Want to know why, because reports don't have a grudge against the underdog panthers, THATS WHY. So many teams cheat to win in the NFL it's ridiculous. Also calling the patriots cocky??? Degen what in the fuck were you watching a demo of hops? lol your stupid to even chime in bro, stick to your bacon and your denim suits bro, we'll call when we need a question about which flannel goes with this color denim.  tongue  Just another hater on the team thats on top.

i dont tolerate cheating in any form, no do i care if others got away with it, they were caught, they do not deserve the recognition they get from it, and yes they are cocky, running up scores due to knowing other teams plays then having the audacity to say they get paid the big bucks to play hard, yeah ok then. I don't know who the bigger dipshit is here, you for defending cheating or justin talking about something he doesnt know about.

Neways, im sorry you're getting so butt hurt over people calling out your team. Im sure insulting me is going to help you feel better about yourself and your team cheating their way to the top. Feel free to post again when you show some class.

A Quote from the above link:

ESPN's TMQ on what it all may mean. Not good.

The weasel wording of Belichick's Nixonian statement shows the New England coach full of contempt for the NFL fans, and the NFL enterprise, that made him a wealthy celebrity. Belichick declared that his super-elaborate cheating system was only a "mistake" caused by his "interpretation" of the league's rule. Wait, "interpretation"? The NFL rule bans teams from filming each other's sidelines. There's no room for interpretation, it's a ban! Here's the NFL policy, from a memo sent to all head coaches and general managers Sept. 6, 2006: "Videotaping of any type, including but not limited to taping of an opponent's offensive or defensive signals, is prohibited on the sidelines, in the coaches' booth, in the locker room or at any other locations accessible to club staff members during the game."  Prohibited. There's nothing there to "interpret." Videotaping opponent's signals even after getting this warning isn't a "mistake," it's cheating. Belichick's cheating was not some casual spur-of-the-moment blunder but rather an elaborate staffed system that took a lot of work to put into place and that Belichick worked hard to hide. And you don't hide something unless you are ashamed of it.

End Quote:
__________________________________________________________________

Part Two

Small Quote:

First we learn that the Patriots were cheating by using video equipment to steal signs, in blatant violation of league rules. Then we learn that even after the scandal broke and Bill Belichick issued his Nixonian stonewalling statement, the Patriots were still keeping sign-stealing videotapes and notes from past games. Surrender of the tapes and notes was the subject of Goodell's emergency order, first reported by ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Sunday night on NBC's "Football Night in America," Goodell threatened more punishment of the Patriots if all cheating materials aren't surrendered, and repeatedly declared it was imperative that NFL games be fair and equal competition. That's exactly the crux of the threat Belichick has created to the league's golden goose.

End Quote

Read more of this here, http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=easterbrook/070918

Please note, the first quote is a copy of an article from ESPN's site, the second quote IS FROM ESPN's site.

I used to pull for the Pats, I remember when they were always the underdogs and rarely ever made it to the playoffs.  When they won their first Super Bowl, I was tickled shitless!  But, the more one reads all these articles, from sites such as ESPN and the NFL site itself, it really makes a person wonder...

Legend, I understand what you are saying and agree with you, there will always be cheating to a degree.  But, what Belichick did, and continued to do well after being warned, (in my own opinion), is just not acceptable.  Sure, Belichicks $500,000 fine hurts and would cripple any normal person.  The owner was fined $250,000!  I'm sure the owner of the team has a little more than that and won't miss it at all.  And Belichick most likely has a few more dollars in his checking account too.

I am not "Hating" the Pats, but the depth of the cheating by Belichick and a few others does raise questions.  The NFL Rule Book indicated that it was an offense which warrants a ban, yet, Belichick and a few others are still there?  So what’s the rule book for?  Leveling a coffee table with a short leg on one corner?

Sorry, I am just very surprised and disappointed with the entire situation.

Marla - no this is about soccer.
Being a lifelong Skins fan, rooting for the Giants was beyond odd. Sure the Giants lost but I have a whole new respect for them and their fans - they gave it their all and just ran out of gas.

Thought it was an excellent game. Bill Belichick walking off the field before the game was over really pissed me off though. So disrespectful.

I thought the same Vid but Belechick did shake the other coach's hand, then he started to cry and then stormed off before the game was officially over.
