You have a texture in a silly format (15/16 bit or using colormaps). Support for silly formats was dropped in the latest R1GL build to encourage people to use non-silly formats. Either delete the texture, likely from some hi-res texture pak you have, or convert it to a 24 bit TGA.

Is "silly format" and "non-silly format" a technical term?  I think "goofy format" would be less offensive.  grin

R1CH stated the solution in the second post of this thread:

I ended up down loading the map pak from here and getting rid of all the costom maps I had. My bad texture was in a sentrys map pak I had, you either have to explore each pak file with (I use pak.explorer) and find it or just replace what you have with the maps here.

If you use R1Q2, there is a console command called whereis that will tell you where a certain game file is located.

]whereis
Purpose: Find where a file is being loaded from on the filesystem.
Syntax : whereis <path>
Example: whereis maps/q2dm1.bsp
]whereis maps/q2dm1.bsp
maps/q2dm1.bsp is found in pakfile ./baseq2/pak1.pak as maps/q2dm1.bsp, 987960 bytes.

And, if I may...pakscape instead of pak explorer. No 8.3 filename limit, drag 'n drop, copy - paste works.

I would have no idea, I do play cs and have never had to deal with that issue. Worm may know, if not I have found most of my info at Texas team players. Just post your question there. You should give q2 a try it is a dated game but the best fps ever released IMO.

mmmm.....this thread is about Q2. You might try a forum that concentrates on CS for help.

Sorry.
