I just DL'd this, does anyone even play it anymore? Q4 in general? Any reason why everyone would quit (other then it just sucks)?

It's a shame no one plays Delta CTF anymore... remember all the fun we had at the LAN Party? $lasher hasn't been the same since that prank we played on him, lol oh man I dunno how we didn't get thrown into jail for THAT! phew!

Lilie, syncerror and the whole team put a lot of hard work into it and we tested over and over to get it as bug free as possible. That took time, a lot of time. The maps were critiqued and tweaked too.....just ask vidmaster.  wink

By the time it was released most players had been so put off by Q4's hardware requirements and out-of-the-box ctf play they had moved on. The audience left the theater before the lights were turned on.  cry

Sad, really, because DeltaCTF plays so well and is very much like the original Threewave CTF for Q2 with additions of tournament modes and a touch of L-Fire. The grapple is even nicer than Q2.

If there were enough interest I could possibly be persuaded to throw up another server for it, only if we don't see confilcts with our Q2 servers as they do have to come first.

I have been playing Q4 a bit lately, kinda touch and go.  I haven't spent any time trying to tweek my settings, so usually I get frustrated with the way things feel.  Over the last month the Q4 game browser lists tons of servers, but I never see a single person playing.

If you put up a server WORM, I would be interested in giving it a shot.

i'd like to try it out w/ dirt and some of the other guys, even more if greider could be convinced to make a rwz mod like it for q4, but i don't really see that happeneing (fn blizzard entertainment!) rolleyes

I remember WORM and myself trying to convince the CTF delta group to make the on-hand and off-hand grapple a server type option.  We failed horribly.  They refused to make it off-hand.

They saw no point in dividing the CTF into two different groups.  I mean where on earth would they get such a notion that would occur?  cheesy

I'll say this... one CTF group has skill, the other needs advantages like off-hand hook.

I'm not saying which is skilled...  Just throwing this out there.   wink

if you can't adapt and use both then that would be considered  less skilled

LOL think about it this way. Say someone dominates with the regular weapon selection in L-fire (my rail is ridiculous), and has to go FETCH weapons to use them, and a grappling hook that requires me to put away my weapon to get around.

Now, take that same skill level, add permanent rail+haste+amp+keyser grapple that doesn't require me to put my weapon away to grapple.

This couldn't possibly be regarded as an advantage?
