Due to some setting in my q2 causing software lag whenever I play ctf, I have uninstalled q2 and deleted all files pertaining to it. If I ever do decide to play this game again, it will be after the summer. I may still pop in here time to time to say hello. GG's

Yeh I was on vent at the time, and I couldn't do shit. It seemed that after I spawned it would take like a second for me to move, and my grapple was like an extra 30ms off. I had less PL when I had 300 ping. Either way, I uninstalled like 2 mins after I left server.

I don't get it, why un-install?  Q2 doesn't take that much drive space, around 10 gigs for us old schoolers, "you would not believe the mods and maps to the mods that I have in that Q2 folder". 

Just delete all your short cuts.  Sorry, but my Q2 directory is from 1997, and I plan to keep it for a long time to come.  Although I do make a backup of it from time to time to be sure.

well i dont do well with my intel pos card that averages about 60fps and my computer that takes 2 minutes just to open the q2 application...

Well, back in the old days, when electricity was first discovered, we had little Pentium 1's running at a mere 233 mhz and some were lucky to have a Voodoo 1, you know the 4 meg "add-on" cards with the passthru cable?  Maybe 64 megs of ram and possibly lucky enough to have a real sound blaster sound card, any kind would have done, but the AWE 32's were the best at the time.

The mighty 15" flat screen monitor and windows 95a, few were lucky enough to have 95b back then and 95a had that fscking 2 gig per partition limit too!  Those systems were doing good to get past 25 fps at 640 x 480 with most of the eye candy turned off.  That is when people first realized that the lower frame rates would allow these little tricks of getting thru windows and such.

But, that was back in the stone age too.     


ADDED  "Don't forget the 33.6 modems with the average 225 or higher pings.  The 56k's were just starting to come out and were priced rather high back then, around $200+ for a good US Robotics 56k.  Try playing with major packet loss with that high of a ping and a damn ISP that drops you every other 10 minutes, that will drive anyone crazy. 

And forget playing on a full server of 24 or more, the systems and connections back then just couldn't handle the traffic.  This was the major reason why lanparties were so popular back in those days and even then pings were still in the 20's and 30's.  Broadband has more or less put the lanparties on the "not needed" list for a good quality game."

lol idc how many people like me around here...apparently its a bandwagon thing to hate me...so people are jumping on it all the time...probably just going to play less until I can get a computer that doesnt completely fuck me over
