As some have noticed we are doing model checks on anticheat users and there are some things you need to be aware of.
The checks before now may have shown some bad files present when they were really OK. Now all checks are correct and will only show files that are indeed bad. This may be because of the file has been replaced with one that is not original, it is a corrupted file or it is indeed a spiked/nosepaked model or other cheaty file. I like to believe one of the first two.
File checks are taken from the original Quake 2 installation files, 3.20 patch and CTF 1.50 patch as well as a few custom files submitted for review. These are considered to be legitimate and anything else is suspect. Additions to the file checks will be taken from original Q2 and CTF with last patches also.
Q2 Demo as well as 3.20 patch with 1.50 CTF are on our downloads page so you can get any file needed from those to replace bad files you may have.
At this time only player models are being checked. We will be adding more checks in the future to cure problems, these may include things like sounds, items, weapons, objects, etc.
There are some players as well as geographical areas of connections that have shown a propensity to try to use questionable clients and/or cheats before and they are now required to have anticheat enabled to connect to our servers. Players may be added to this list in the future as we see fit.
Warnings in server are all you will see for this transition period but kicks will be enabled in the future also.

I cant get in to any of the servers. It says I need to go to antiche.at
I have done that, but I still cant get in. Someone please help me.

It tells you everything you need to do on that page. Do it. Don't use Quake2.exe to start Q2..use R1Q2.exe instead then connect and everything will be cool.

As far as I know you just need the standard models, and skins can still be custom. For playermodels, that is. This may be different on other servers though.

Some more file checks have been added to pub II, 66.36.243.128:27913
You might want to check yourself on these also and correct any problems before we add them to the other servers. I am using this port as a place to test all checks first and to allow players to verify their files as well as a secondary pub where you can have a more even game.
If you have had problems with crakhor model failures you can download the file with valid model and tons of skins, if you use it on DM servers that allow it, here:

Be aware that is a 2.8MB file. Unzip to Quake2\baseq2\players folder so crakhor shows as folder under that.

The file checks that were being performed on pub 2 only are now on all CTF servers. Pub 2 will have increased file checks sometime this week-end so you can use it to verify yourselves. I will post when they are updated.
Seems already that we are seeing some using rocket trails.

New file checks are up on Pub II now and will be put on other CTF servers probably later today.
These may cure some of the bad file messages that some get because I incorporated validation of some custom paks that have been around for years, like 3Fingers for instance.
If you still fail after this round I would suggest you send me the bad files for validation or delete them.

Only very slight changes have been made on file checks so far, mainly to allow our Euro bros and a few others some flexibility on a couple of things.
We are saving some other changes for the next release of R1Q2 server and anticheat which will allow easier management of the hashes. I plan on supporting some other paks that many use when that is done so hang with us and we will improve.

hello...
1st: i do NOT cheat, never have, never will
2nd: i've been using anticheat for sometime now - yesterday said i had 7 files that failed
filecheck. i found the files - they were related to game i liked to play based on q2 engine
(game is Alien Arena 2007 - fun game)
3rd: i deleted the culprit files - in fact, deleted whole game - AA2007
4th: anticheat now msg's i have 4 files that failed check - all from that game - the files
are NOT on my system anywhere as they've been deleted.
question: what gives? solution? since not anywhere on my system.

They are probably in a pak on the system. Depends on what the files are too. Type acinfo in console and it will tell you what files are invalid. Note that files are only loaded as needed.
I will be adding rapace's pak to validated files this week-end and possibly looking at others too.

thx for tip of looking within pak files - found a few culprit files (various sounds)
in old pak i was using - files deleted - one was a shotgun sound file - omg,
the regular shotgun sound file now sounds so feeble

I finally just reinstalled everything. Going to run the check (Can I do it on myself?) to see which files need verification and will send. Will also send you the Skin/Model I'm using to check it or whatnot. Been rather busy the past week or so.

If you know the name of a pakfile that you use, that might be enough for us to identify it (we've already collected a bunch
). If it's a collection from many differen origins it might need close inspection. Or maybe there's nothing in there that is currently checked for. Hard to give a one-fits-all explanation..
Connect with the anticheat active, and use aclist and acinfo to check the status. If you use non-approved(yet?) versions for the files we check, it will list those files,
if
those files actually get loaded in that map (if nobody uses cyborg model, it probably won't be checked). After that, it's probably easiest to hop on IRC, and have a condump of which files you fail, and then we'll see how it can be resolved.

I'm an advocate for acme to require anticheat on all its servers, and I've heard the arguments for why it's not. However, how can some players be commanded to change files because they're using anticheat when some players are not using module? These players who are either unwilling or unable to use anticheat are most likely using some of the same "suspect" files that some of the anticheat users are being "caught" with. The reason I know this is because almost every player who has made the switch to anticheat has failed at least one or two file checks due to customizing his or her game play. Unless anticheat is required by all, it's not fair to force players to change their customizations unless everyone is being treated the same. That's my opinion.

What future are we talking about? Weeks? Months?
When i look on the server and see some players with a lot of bad files, i.e.:
models/objects/rocket/tris.md2
models/weapons/g_shotg/tris.md2
models/weapons/g_chain/tris.md2
models/weapons/g_launch/tris.md2
models/weapons/g_rail/tris.md2
models/weapons/v_rail/tris.md2

I really don't think you can read too much into that just yet DC. I had a failed rail gun model, turned out to be an ok file after all. I am one of the last to be using a rare 3fingers pak, and the rail gun was a little different, and in the color of it as well.
You guys have to trust WORM, R1CH, Snake, and the others. They are working hard on all of this, for all of us! They also have a life away from the game that never stops, even if we do walk away from the game from time to time.
Look at the larger picture, look at how many nose paks have been found, look at how many wall hacks that have been found. We all need to show a little patience and respect, things take time.

I only had 6 or 7 bad files but the files weren't altered, they just weren't there!!

Damn I missed this post completely! It explains a lot.
I can find myself too in the things BMF wrote. It would be nice to see more players using anticheat, also some self called nerds here.

We have updated anticheat file checks on all CTF servers as of now.
All paks available from
http://acmectf.com/downloads/paks/
are valid and should not give you any bad file notices.
All player models in
http://acmectf.com/downloads/Models,%20skins,%20sounds,%20etc/
are valid also. EXCEPT for the ones in Not AC validated files sub folder.
In addition, their are some other paks, colormaps, models, etc. that have been submitted for review and found to be legitimate that are included as valid files.
If you still fail file checks now it would be a good idea to either send your bad files to me for validation or remove them from your Q2. We have no problem with different files as long as they are valid but we do need to add them now.
There will be a short grace period before we start kicking for bad files but that is coming very soon...probably this week-end.
Thanks to Snake for working closely with me on compiling file checks, if you pass our servers you should have no problem on Backshooters.

While this is good, can we finally enforce anti-cheat then? I still don't find it fair that people will be allowed to play with no anti-cheat, but people using the anti-cheat (with bad files) will be kicked. If it is still voluntary, it just doesn't seem right to be kicking those people. Don't get me wrong, I want anti-cheat enforced. That's why I think if kicks are starting, then it's time anti-cheat becomes enforced. Otherwise, most people (it seems to me) will simply remove anti-cheat and not have to deal with the kicks.

just a thought could it be possible to give us the paks that are legit from pak 0-9 and we simply replace them in our system

Well...that is illegal. And there were not that many pak files in the original game anyway.

download the demo. And the 3.20 update with CTF. And one
could
install those to a temporary folder. And one
could
copy the paks from them. And one
would
be valid if they didn't have any other paks with bad files. And one
could
find all kinds of stuff, even some custom paks we have validated for use, on
http://acmectf.com/downloads/
if one looked around there.
Or so I've heard.
Or look on your original CD. You do still have it....don't you?
Remember that R1Q2 loads any file with the extension .pak so if a file named "myoldbadfiles.pak" would be loaded too.

ok im still coming up with bad file i deleted all my paks and put in your worm pak and repace pak but the situation still not resolved the deleted paks i put in another folder called old quake

Read WORMs message again.. restore your ORIGINAL q2 and ctf pakfiles. THEN you can ADD custom stuff. Don't REPLACE your original files..
