These are just some different jumps that I found to be cool or useful. They are in the folder Twitch, which is where I plan to upload any demos I make. Comments or suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Added 2 new jumps from Bletey's Blues. Added a clones jump (not impressive at all). Added McShminley window grapple. Added a jump from Dakyne (mega health, then a quick jump). Added a jump from slippery when wet (jump to ammo pack).

ps - h0ps I did that lush window long before anyone, didn't even know anyone else did it.

I haven't watched the demo of the bletyes elevator one, but its probably just a DJ to the railgun, i like doing that in game, but it is kind of tough especially with all the spam you get on a pub game.

I suppose I could post some ownage moves of my own.. but then everyone would want to do them....

well, unfortunately i dont have my fastest recorded, I think i only have a SS of it on my old computer.. On cacophony
For anyone to try, my record is (going from RED to BLUE) 8.4 seconds.  I know i have 8.7 on demo, maybe 8.6..

From BLUE to RED: I have 8.8 seconds...

Also on lfctf7 McShminely - I beat grunts record, my fastest is 9.0 seconds.. that could probably be improved but thats where it stands at now, once I gather these demos from my old computer, ill set up something or post them on here..
I don't have an FTP, never really used any of that stuff, so i don't really know how to set one up.. Although now after reading up, i can see that i can just use acme's..

My guess would be the 8.4 is with a rocket jump.  But it still counds if you ask me.

The FTP points to that folder so you can upload and save me the trouble of moving them to make easier for the more technologically challenged to download. 

This folder also contains a lot of demos uploaded by others...some interesting ones too.

how about someone posting some FAQS/tips for editing demos? and software?
no point in posting a 10 minute demo when the "trick" happens at 8 minutes into it.
what software to use to fast forward a demo while you're at it?

and when you're done putting all of that into one post I'm sure an admin around here would be more than happy to make that badass little post a sticky.

i know there is a program called keygrip2 that was used alot to make movies with q2 demos and such, u could edit, change camera angle and everything, i didnt learn to use it tho

I know what you mean, that is why my demos are done with no mistakes and to the point. They only last about 10 seconds. However, if you decide to record a demo that is 10 min long and only want a portion of it, there is a program called fraps. Fraps will record only the portion you want in .avi format I believe. The trial version only records in 33 fps I believe. So, if you find a cracked version or buy it, you can record in higher fps.

So, I just record an 8 second demo with fraps. Quality? It's .avi form and is easy to watch. Problem? The 8 second demo is half size recorded at 30fps and is 55 megs. Perhaps, there is a better program out there.

I'll upload this .avi file so you can check it out though.

yeah, i did "buy" fraps a while back and tinkered with it. the only problem is, even a short clip of decent quality video is MUCH larger than a Q2 .dm2 demo file.

I think I tried that keygrip program a while back too. If i recall, it was quite difficult to use and unlike axl, I just didn't have the patience.

gunna check out some T! demos as I eat

You can use AprQ2 client to export whole .dm2 to avi or just a part of it. More info in Manual http://maniac.aq2world.com/apr

and keygrip ain't that hard to learn... IIRC it was pretty easy to chop off bits before or after the interesting parts of a demo. make sure you have a backup of the original demo file tho.

I think I was trying to do some recamming when I did try keygrip.. perhaps cutting pieces out is easier

Im working to try and gather some demos/re-create some of mine that I may have lost during formatting or something. I haven't looked through my screenshots of my cap times, im pretty sure I have the 8.4, but i know screenshots don't mean that much...

So far I think ill post my 8.6 cap of caco (alka if you have yours, send it to me, ill give you my e-mail in PM), ill post grunts cap time on mcshminley, then mine. Im on campus right now, so im trying to remember what demos i have and dont have. I cant remember any others right now, ill do it when i get home.

Is McShim the one with the forcefield (shoot-through) wall between the two bases and the quad on an island in the middle?  WHen Team 3 first released the map I think you could walk through part of the wall freely, then they sort of fixed it, but you could still rail your teammate through the wall if you set your fps right  (I don't remember what it was).  Vandal and I used to do that and you would have like 2-3 sec caps. By suiciding, you could cap limit in under a min.

I know you CAN do it with the grapple, but you don't need to. You don't need to change your FPS either. You can just walk through.

Windows XP has a built in FTP, just put http://ftp://66.36.243.128:2121 in your browser to connect. Then all you have to do is drag the file into the window.

If that doesnt work just download an FTP client.

Ok so i drag the folder into the broswer, and it has the little box mark on my cursor basically saying, its ok to go ahead and drop, i let go, and it automatically opens up the folder, showing the demo's i have..ok, but then i refresh, and my folder isn't there, is there something else im supposed to do to "upload" them ?

Newbs... My fastest on McShminley was like 2.7 seconds going through the force field.

Target had a faster time than me, as far as i know that was the fastest, not guarantee's tho.
