I'm a west coast ctf player from the year or two after Q2 was released (release - mid 1999 is when I mostly played). We had lots of good times on West coast servers (YYZ [home and testbed for L-fire], .srf, e|fusion, etc.). I was in JPD, MDK and KT. Lots of fun pubbing, scrimming, matching or irc-ing with some of the people on here (joem, Zorak [even from his FURY days], crow (when he was still super llama, it was fun watching him get good), $lasher when I'd play east coast servers). Stopped playing when my connection became chronically unuseable (30-40% pl nightly) and whe pile of crap known as Q3alpha was released. I started the save the grapple petition to keep the hook in Q3CTF, but Zoid and iD basically told us to go eff ourselves..I started poking around again when it looked like Delta CTF might be a fun new game, but it doesn't seem to have caught on?

We actually had a couple of LAN parties out west sort of like you guys were trying to have on the east coast recently to have a "good bye" get together for q2 (though I think we had ours in 2000 or 2001). Sort of a combination of some MDK/KT/es/R2D/Smile guys. First one had about 45, 2nd one about 25 or so.

I remember Degen's name too. ksoul's name sounds familiar too (were you part of TWD?).
